Quick capture lets you record a task without first opening your task list. Chorsu adds the next step: it resolves the project while you capture, so the task does not become another item to sort later. Clear tasks file automatically. If the project is unclear, Chorsu asks you to choose in the same panel.

Start with one task

Suppose you are reading an email and remember that the kitchen faucet needs fixing. You want to record that thought and get back to the email, without navigating through projects first.

  1. Open Quick Capture. With the Mac App Store edition of Chorsu running, press ⇧⌘Space (Shift–Command–Space). If you changed the shortcut in Settings, use your chosen combination.
  2. Write one task. For example, fix the kitchen faucet. Chorsu uses your wording and local project context to work out where it belongs. You can include a project name when you want to be explicit.
  3. Press Return. If there is a clear project match, Chorsu saves the task there. Otherwise, choose a project in Quick Capture. You can filter the list or type a name to create a project.
  4. Check the confirmation. It shows the saved task and project. While it is visible, use Change if you want a different project.
  5. Continue where you left off. The task is already in a project. There is no new Inbox item waiting for a separate sorting session.

What if the task could belong to two projects?

A task like order a new keyboard might be for Home or Work. Chorsu asks you to choose when it cannot safely decide. Select the right project and confirm it in the panel. If you have no projects yet, name your first one there.

This small decision is part of capture. You do not need to accept a guessed project or remember to clean up an Inbox later.

Add a time or prerequisite when it matters

You can include an English time phrase, such as review the report tomorrow at 9 am. See the reminder guide for checking the result and enabling notifications.

If you cannot act until another task is finished, use a task dependency. A prerequisite describes readiness; a reminder describes a time. They solve different problems and can be used together.

Know the boundaries

  • Each capture creates one task. Use Shift–Return for another line of detail, not for a batch of separate tasks.
  • Core routing works without Apple Intelligence. Optional on-device assistance can improve suggestions, but capture does not wait for a model.
  • Chorsu stores your tasks on this Mac. It does not sync them to an iPhone or another computer.
  • The free edition supports 3 active projects with unlimited tasks. Pro removes the active-project limit.
